Welcome to The Argoed, one of Dunedin’s outstanding stately homes.
Suitably situated in a sun-trap amidst the trees of the Dunedin Town Belt, the Welsh name means 'by a wood' or 'near to the trees'.
The three rooms available for booking are named after the trees each overlooks: oak, copper beech and rata. The grounds feature numerous rhododendrons and almost one hundred rose bushes that begin to bloom in early spring and continue flowering until winter.
Bruce and Wendy Aitken, your hosts, offer warm and friendly hospitality in their charming home. The Drawing Room, Dining Room, Conservatory and Library are available for guests to enjoy tranquillity or to interact with other guests at their pleasure.
This grand Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located within walking distance of the Mornington shopping village, a short bus ride to The Octagon, and only five minutes by car to the University of Otago.
